About us

Aims

Launched in 2021 with a small and enthusiastic team of bakers, CJ’s bakery’s aim is to help adults with a learning disability achieve their maximum potential by offering them the opportunity to work as a baker in a supportive and friendly baking environment.

CJ’s Bakery is a not for profit organization and any surplus earnings are reinvested in training and support for our chefs.

How we work

CJ's bakery prides itself on the quality of all of its bread, cakes and bakes.

We bake to order so we are able to guarantee fresh products for local delivery or collection from our home bakery. Baking to order also reduces the amount of food waste produced which we believe makes us a more sustainable business.

We also bake fresh cakes for local cafes, including The Wave Cafe in Muswell Hill (open every Thursday).  https://www.wavehub.org.uk/

Our Packaging and our Ingredients:

We are very aware of the damage that non-recyclable packaging does to the world. All our boxes, bags and ribbons are either recyclable or compostable and where possible we deliver cakes locally in re-usable cake boxes that we later collect or our customers return.

We shop for many of our ingredients in local shops and always try to buy the best quality that we can.  We only use organic flour in our breads.  We use Shipton Mill Organic White flour which is milled from a blend of continental and English organic wheats.
